Dr. rer. nat. Eren Erdal Aksoy

Researching on Semantic Scene Perception,
Robot Scene & Action Understanding,
Autonomous Driving, and AI.

I am currently employed as an Associate Professor within the RSS group at Lund University in Sweden. Before moving to Lund, I served as an Associate Professor at Halmstad University. Between 2018 and 2021, I also worked as a visiting scholar in AI teams at companies such as Volvo Group Trucks Technology and Zenseact AB in Sweden. Prior to moving to Sweden, I spent three years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in the H2T group, led by Prof. Dr. Tamim Asfour. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Göttingen, where I subsequently stayed for 2.5 years as a postdoctoral researcher in the Computational Neuroscience group of Prof. Dr. Florentin Wörgötter. I am actively working on creating semantic representations of visual experiences to improve environment and action understanding for autonomous systems, such as robots and unmanned vehicles.
